The following is information on ground transportation.

 

From Dulles International Airport to The Westin Arlington Gateway Hotel, 801 N. Glebe Rd., Arlington, VA:

Distance from airport to hotel: approx 22 miles.  Average time: 35-45 minutes.

Via Washington Flyer Coach Service and Metro:

Take the Washington Flyer Coach non-stop to Metro's West Falls Church Station for just $9 one-way or $16 round-trip. Transfer to the D.C. Metro system.  Tickets for the Flyer Coach can be purchased at the ticket counter inside the vestibule of Door 4 on the Arrivals/Baggage Claim Level. Board the bus at Dulles Main Terminal at Door 4 on the Arrival level.  Coaches leave every thirty minutes and operate weekdays from 5:45 a.m. to 10:40 p.m. (Dulles to Metro) and 6:15 a.m. to 11:10 p.m. (Metro to Dulles); weekends and holidays from 7:45 a.m. to 10:40 p.m. (Dulles to Metro) and 8:15 a.m. to 11:10 p.m. (Metro to Dulles).  For more information, call 1-888-WASHFLY or visit the website at http://www.washfly.com/.

At the West Falls Church Metro stop, take the Metro’s Orange line toward New Carrollton.  In two stops, get off the train at the Ballston-MU station.  One way fare is either $1.35 or $1.65 (rush hours).

The hotel is less than a half mile from the Ballston Metro station.  Walk west on N. Fairfax Dr. toward N. Stuart St.  Turn left on N. Stuart and walk south to the dead end at Wilson Blvd.  Turn right on Wilson Blvd and walk approximately 2 ½ blocks.  Wilson Blvd. and N. Glebe Rd merge near the hotel.

Via Washington Flyer Taxi Service:

            No reservations are needed.  Washington Flyer taxis (door-to-door) are available curb-side in the Arrival area.  Taxis are metered and will take major credit cards or cash.  Approximate one-way cost to the hotel is $50. Additional fees may apply, e.g. gasoline surcharge, etc.

Via SuperShuttle Van:

            The SuperShuttle Van (door-to-door service) has several options.  Make reservations beforehand and as round-trips, either on the internet at supershuttle.com or by calling 1-800-BLUEVAN (258-3826).

a)      For individual travelers, the cost is $26 per person each way;

b)      For a group of up to 7 travelers, the cost is $26 for the first person and $9 for each person thereafter or $66 for a van seating 7.  Costs are one-way;

c)      For a group of 10 travelers, the cost is $110 for the van one-way.

 

From Reagan Washington National Airport to The Westin Arlington Gateway Hotel, 801 N. Glebe Rd., Arlington, VA:

Distance from airport to hotel: approx 6.5 miles.  Average time: 20-30 minutes.

Via Metro:

Take the Metro’s Blue line in the airport toward Largo Town Center for 5 stops. Get off at the Rosslyn Metro Station.  Transfer (free) to the Orange line toward Vienna/Fairfax.  Take the Orange line 4 stops to the Ballston MU station.  One way fare is either $1.35 or $1.90 (rush hours).

Traveling in a private car:

From East (includes Reagan Washington National):

Take State Route 50 to Interstate 495 (“Outerloop”/Exit 7B). Continue on I-495 to State Route 267 (Exit 45B) which joins Interstate 66 East. Continue on I-66 to North Fairfax Drive (Exit 71). Proceed past the light and turn right on Vermont Avenue. 

From North (includes BWI Marshall International):

Take Interstate 95 or Interstate 270 to Interstate 495 (“Outerloop”). Follow I-495 to State Route 267 (Exit 45B). SR-267 joins Interstate 66 East. Continue on I-66 East and exit onto North Fairfax Drive (Exit 71). Proceed past the light and turn right on Vermont Avenue. 

From West (includes Dulles International):

(The toll-free Dulles Access Road connects the airport to Interstate 66.)

Take Interstate 66 and exit onto North Fairfax Drive (Exit 71). Proceed past the light and turn right on Vermont Avenue. The hotel is 1 block farther on the left. 

From South:

Take Interstate 95 North to Interstate 395.  Continue on I-395 to State Route 120 (Exit 7B/South Glebe Road).  Continue on SR-120 North for 3.2 miles.  The hotel is located on the right.
